Updates
Anime meeting Sept 3
Hey everyone, sorry for the late update.
So this week we have a bit of a different setup, and I will explain it later. First off,
The Winners!
Angel Beats, first half of the semester.
BakaTest, second half of the semester.
Umineko, full semester
After those, we had a split vote between the other two half semesters and Kuroshitsuji. So we are having a Anime first, a runoff election.
This is how this meeting will go, we will show the normal number of episodes of Angel Beats and Umineko. Then, we will have the seccond episode of each of the runoff shows. Last, we will have people vote either for both half series, or the full series, no picking and choosing.
Last off, we will not have a sampler this week, or had one last week. Sorry all.
Oh and if you still wanted a shirt, bring money and buy one either before, @ break, or after the meeting.
THE BALLOT MEETING!
Hey everyone,
It's that time again! The Semesterly Ballot Meeting!
The Ballot stands at:
Half Season B Gata H Kei
Half Season Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu
Half Season Angel beats
Half Season Abenobashi Magical Shopping Arcade
Full Seadon Kuroshitsuji
Full Season Skip Beat!
Full Season Scrapped Princess
Full Season Umineko no Naku Koro Ni
Everyone needs to show up and voice their opinion!
Don't worry though, if you can't make it I will let you know what wins by Monday.
Have a great first weekend of the semester!
Edit: Whoops! I should have told you, the ballot meeting is from 6-9p in Nord 410, also known as the JapanCASE room. And if you are up to learning a bit of culture, there will be an origami session in the Nord Atrium, right next to the Go club, from 5 until the meeting start. Come by if you want to talk about origami or just want to bug us officers about something. We should all be wearing Anime Society shirts. Welcome(back) to JapanCASE
Hey everyone, welcome(back) to Case Western's Japan group!
Marshall did a great job of explaining everything in the e-mail so I'll just copy it for convienience sake.
Hello everyone!
And Welcome to japanCASE! If you just recently signed the mailing list for fun and didn't talk to any of our officers, we are the only group on campus dedicated to both Japanese culture and media. First I would like to thank everyone who came to our SatCo yesterday, especially those who blew off another SatCo for ours. There are a few resources I would like to bring to everyone's attention before the semester begins.
Mailing lists:
We have two mailing lists, animesociety@case.edu for general announcements and jpconn-officers@case.edu if you need to contact an officer with an idea, suggestion, or other issue.
Collegiate Link:
No doubt Case has waved this in your face at least once and said how awesome it is. Well their lying to you, its not. However this is the only source used to register official members for student groups. It is imperative that all members sign up at http://casewestern.collegiatelink.net/Community?action=getMyHome. Our group is listed there by our old name Japan Connection.
Facebook:
We also have a facebook group japanCASE. If you are on the mailing list there should not be any new information posted to this group however we encourage you to sign up as a way to invite new people to our organization and events.
Our website:
We have a website, http://japanconnection.org/, which should be updated frequently and have upcoming events as well as our group constitution and other group info. These 4 resources are important for us to get you all the necessary information about our group that you need to be an informed japanCASE member. But seriously, please sign up on Collegiate Link.
Kaiwa Club:
For those of you taking Japanese or wanting to improve your language skills Kaiwa Club is a Japanese and English conversation group which meets every Sunday from 4-6PM at the "The Coffee House at University Circle"(near Case Western Reserve University's north side dorms). The group's main focus is to give members an opportunity to use Japanese and English in a real setting, as well as to meet new people and have fun.
Other tid bits:
As you may have seen we do have club shirts. We are always looking for designs to be submitted and rather than ask group members to submit shirt designs in the middle of the year I'm telling you now when everyone has the time to devote to little projects. We also have club shirts for sale $10 each. We also have a few opportunities a year for cosplay contests and if you have a cosplay that you want to wear to meetings it's welcome advertisement. If you have any experience cooking or preparing Japanese cuisine please contact our vice president of culture Rachael Radgowski <rsr14@case.edu>. She is in charge of all cooking that goes on at our events and would appreciate anyone who would like to help.
With all that said, our first meeting is this Friday, August 27, from 6:00-9ish in Nord 410. At our first meeting we will show several series and vote on which ones to watch for the rest of the semester. The list of candidates will go out on Thursday, free snacks and drinks will also be present. We hope to see everyone there, new and old.
Marshall Hughes
President
Perhaps the most important bit of information to pull from this block of text is that our BALLOT MEETING is this friday in Nord 410 at 6pm. COME AND LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

Summer of Anime Week 13!
Hey Everybody,
We are reaching the end of the Summer! I know it is tough but all good things must come to an end.
This week we are finishing up Needless. I expect much excitement and testosterone. There will also be "fun" samplers, which should probably mean you should brace yourself for something sinister...
As for last week's samplers, Ethan forgot, and I do not go to the meetings so I cannot list them right now, but I will update this post with them as soon as I get the information.
Have a nice week.
